Annual Meeting 2010 - Accomodation

The 4th and final NERIES Annual Meeting will take place in Hotel Mitland (see below for address and route).

Hotel rooms

• The meeting starts early at Monday (May 10), so we advise you to arrive on Sunday (May 9).
• Please book your own hotel room at Hotel Mitland. You can book online on www.mitland.nl, by filling in the code "KNMI090510" in the field "group numbers", when clicking on on "click here for special rates" at the reservation tab. (Detailed explanation in English).
• Until April 15, 2010, 50 rooms are reserved (reduced rate):
  -  Standard single room: EUR 105,00; (25 rooms),
  -  Single room (lake side): EUR 115,00; (25 rooms)
• After April 15, the block booking at Mitland will expire. Please note that after this date, availability (and prices) at Hotel Mitland cannot be quaranteed.
• When full, please check one of the other hotels in the area: Malie Hotel, NH Hotels Utrecht or Hotel Oorsprongpark.
• For cancellation of your room reservation, please contact Hotel Mitland. Up to 24 hrs before arrival, cancellation is free of charge. Cancellation within 24 hrs will be charged to your credit card.

Meeting rooms
The main meeting will take place in the "Vijverzaal" of Hotel Mitland, subsessions can be held in two other smaller rooms (40 persons). Please send us your suggestions on any subsessions or cross-meetings before April 30th. 

Posters
We strongly recommend bringing a poster (please indicate this on your registration form). We have allocated space for posters in the meeting rooms.

Internet connection
Internet connection is available in the meeting and hotel rooms via a special internet card (handed out at registration).

Transportation

Note: because of the Giro d'Italia, which finish in Utrecht on Sunday 9 May, from 14.30 until 18.30 hrs. there is limited traffic in the inner city of Utrecht. Taxi's will be available, some buses may not be.

Hotel Mitland lies in the east part of Utrecht. It can be reached by bus or taxi from Utrecht Central Station (10 min.), or by train or taxi from Schiphol Airport (Amsterdam).

Train
Trains go every quarter of an hour to station Utrecht Centraal from Schiphol Airport (at .00, .14, .30 and .44) from platform 3, downstairs. (Do not take train in the direction of Amsterdam.)

Bus
From Utrecht Central Station, take bus 11, 50, 52, 53, 54, 74 or 77 and get off at bus stop "Oorsprongpark" at the end of the street called "Biltstraat". From here it is a 10 minute walk to Hotel Mitland:

• When getting off the bus, get to the opposite side of the Biltstraat and go to your right (east);
• Cross the railway crossing and keep walking left of the Biltstraat;
• Turn left at the end (after the apartment blocks) to the Karel Doormanlaan;
• Turn right and cross the road by passing the pedestrian fly-under (tunnel);
• Hotel Mitland is on the right after 50 meters.

You can buy a single ticket in the bus, or buy a 15-"strippenkaart" at the machine and share it with others. One bus ride from the center/station to Mitland costs you 2 "strippen".

Taxi
From Schiphol (Amsterdam Airport), the "Utrecht Taxi Centrale" (UTC) can bring you to Utrecht with 4 persons for EUR 55,-. If you have ordered a taxi before your departure, please report to the Schiphol Transfer Assistance (STA) desk. The staff there will bring you into contact with the (waiting) taxi driver (UTC, tel. +31 30 2300 400).

At Utrecht Central Station, please go to the taxi platform. The "Utrecht Taxi Centrale" (UTC) has taxi's available, which can bring you to Hotel Mitland (UTC, tel.: +31 30 2300 400).
